Volunteering

Executive members are volunteers that meet on the third Tuesday of every month; they are responsible for the overall management and governance of the society. They play a crucial role in developing policies, strategic plans and ensuring that the society’s objectives and goals are met. The executive members are elected or appointed by the members of the society, and their roles may include legal, financial, and operational responsibilities.

The President or Chair of the board presides over the meetings and provides leadership to the board. The Vice President supports the President and may act as a backup in their absence. The Secretary maintains all official records, including minutes of the meetings. If the society is incorporated the Secretary will be responsible for ensuring that all legal requirements are met. The Treasurer oversees all financial matters, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.

The Executive Committee may also include members at large who bring a range of skills and experience to the board. Overall, the Executive members work collaboratively to ensure that the society is operating effectively, ethically, and in alignment with its mission and purpose.
